Background-
TranslateAble, a language provider serving the events industry, has reached the finals for Sustainable Business of the Year at the Language Industry Awards 2026. The Association of Translation Companies, the UK trade body for translation and interpreting firms, runs the awards.
The company also made the shortlist for Company of the Year and Team of the Year, putting it in the running in all three categories it entered.
The nomination comes as corporate event organisers face growing pressure to match their events with company ESG goals. TranslateAble says the recognition reflects its push to build sustainable, inclusive practices into how it works with clients.
Last year, the company delivered every one of its onsite jobs using local interpreters and technicians, up 14% from 2024. That shift cut travel-related emissions, supported local economies at host destinations, and kept costs down for clients by removing the need to fly or ship language professionals in from elsewhere.
The award nomination follows TranslateAble’s MSDUK accreditation in July, which certifies it as an ethnic minority-owned business.
Julia Danmeri, founder and CEO of TranslateAble, said the recognition means a great deal to her team, adding that sustainability runs through daily operations at the company rather than sitting in a policy document.
Winners will be announced on 22 October 2026 at the voco Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow, during the ATC’s 50th anniversary conference.
