Background-

Lazard has expanded its Financial Advisory business by appointing Dr Marco Superina to lead investment banking for Switzerland. The move strengthens the firm’s coverage of the DACH region and supports its long-term growth strategy, Lazard 2030, which aims to broaden coverage across key European markets.

Superina will be based in Zurich, where he will advise Swiss and international corporations, entrepreneurs and financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions and other strategic matters. He will join the DACH management team led by Marcus Schenck, Head of Financial Advisory for the region.

Schenck said Switzerland’s economy blends globally recognised companies with a strong base of internationally minded, founder and family-owned businesses. He added that Superina’s arrival strengthens Lazard’s ability to serve these markets with local expertise alongside access to its global advisory platform.

Superina joins Lazard from UBS, where he served as Head of Global Banking Switzerland. He earlier held senior roles at Credit Suisse, including Head of M&A Switzerland, Head of M&A Northern Europe and Head of Healthcare M&A for Europe, beginning his career at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997. He holds a doctorate in banking and finance from the University of Zurich.

Superina said he has spent close to three decades advising Swiss companies and looks forward to bringing Lazard’s global capabilities and local expertise to clients across Switzerland.
