Background
Business aviation group Vista has taken its new flagship aircraft, the Bombardier Global 8000, on a media and stakeholder tour across Hong Kong and Shanghai. The tour traces key flight routes that reflect the growing demand for business aviation across Greater China.
The timing carries weight. Hong Kong ranks third globally and first in Asia Pacific as a financial hub, while Shanghai holds sixth place globally and third in Asia Pacific, according to the Global Financial Centres Index. Both cities already feature among Vista’s busiest destinations by flight volume.
Vista reported 32% growth in annual flight traffic across Greater China from 2024 to 2025, and 25% growth across the Asia Pacific. Mainland China alone posted a 28% rise. Demand from Hong Kong grew especially strongly, up 35%, driven by heavy cross-border activity. Flights between Hong Kong and Shanghai ranked among Vista’s top three regional routes throughout 2025.
Crystal Wong, President of Asia Pacific at Vista, said ultra-high-net-worth individuals and corporations in China now expect more than just aircraft access. She said they look for the latest innovations, personalised service, and the speed and flexibility to match their demanding schedules, making regional expansion central to Vista’s strategy.
The Global 8000 flies up to 17 hours nonstop and covers 8,000 nautical miles, making it the fastest and longest-range jet in its class. Its four-zone cabin supports both work and rest, while a low cabin altitude and advanced air filtration system improve passenger comfort on long-haul routes.
The tour is part of Vista’s bigger push to widen its footprint in Asia, which included the launch of XO in Asia last October, 2025.
