Background

SwedCham Indonesia has become part of two large business platforms in Indonesia, and this has enhanced its influence on trade and policy discourse as Indonesia embarks on economic reforms.

The chamber joined the International Business Chamber and the EU-Indonesia Business Network. These memberships make SwedCham to be among the top international chambers that cooperate closely with the government in the regulation and business policies.

The shift is linked with an increasing pace of Indonesia’s transition to energy and the development of the digital economy and industry. With the formation of these groups, SwedCham seeks to enhance the integration of businesses and policy makers, as well as assist its members in finding new market opportunities.

The International Business Chamber serves as an avenue through which foreign chambers can exchange knowledge and interact with government institutions on regulatory issues. The EU–Indonesia Business Network supports European companies with market data, advisory services, and policy engagement to ease trade and investment.

SwedCham’s leadership said the memberships will give its member companies stronger access to policy discussions and business networks. Swedish companies possess specialized knowledge in sustainable industrial practices, digital infrastructure systems, medical technology solutions and advanced manufacturing methods, which fulfill the growth requirements of Indonesia.

The development aligns with SwedCham’s strategy for 2026, which focuses on promoting Swedish industrial strengths in Indonesia and increasing awareness of opportunities between the two countries. The Chamber also seeks to intensify its joint ventures and to provide an even more significant industrial perspective to its members.
